ABOUT THE EVENT
Following the success of the most recent conferences organized by the CMM, the XVI Conference on Steel and Composite Construction and the II Conference on Facade Engineering aim to showcase the latest innovations and achievements in this field of construction, seeking to decisively contribute to the promotion, consolidation, and expansion of the sector.
The Conference is intended to serve as a privileged platform for the exchange of ideas and experiences among the various stakeholders involved in the design and execution of steel and composite structures, as well as in research and educational activities within this domain. In this edition, special emphasis will be given to the theme: “The New Generation of Eurocodes.”
This edition will also feature the 2II Conference on Facade Engineering, where topics of particular interest to this sector will be highlighted.
Participation in the Conference offers the opportunity to publish a selection of the best papers in the CE/Papers journal of the Wiley Online Library Scientific Library.

SPECIAL THEME
The new generation of Eurocodes represents a significant advancement for steel and composite construction, introducing more up-to-date, coherent approaches aligned with current challenges in structural engineering. These documents strengthen European harmonization, incorporate technological innovation, and promote greater reliability in design methods, with particular emphasis on topics such as sustainability, durability, seismic resilience, and digitalization.
Given its importance and impact on the sector, this theme takes on a central role in the XVI Conference on Steel and Composite Construction and the II Conference on Facade Engineering, establishing itself as a key topic for discussion and knowledge exchange.
HIGHLIGHTS
Professor Eduardo de Arantes e Oliveira Award
The Award recognizes the best contributions to the conference. It honors the achievements of the Professor, one of the most prominent and influential scientists and leaders in civil engineering in contemporary Portugal. The awarded work will be published in an international journal in the field.
Portugal Steel Bridge Awards 2027
The Award It is intended for projects or constructions carried out by companies associated with the CMM and aims to give visibility to and encourage the creative use of steel in bridge construction at a national level. During this ceremony, the nominated projects will be presented, and the award will be presented to the winning project.

It will provide a privileged opportunity for direct contact between leading companies in the sector and professionals seeking new opportunities. This space, designed to foster networking and the establishment of partnerships, will help bring talent and the job market closer together in a dynamic and specialized environment.
Keynotes
The 16th CMM Congress will feature renowned speakers from various fields of steel and composite construction, as well as façade engineering.
